The Circle
A small membership that meets rarely, in private, and by invitation only.
The Circle is the part of the house that members meet each other through. Dinners of twelve. A reading in a closed library. A weekend where the guest list is the point.
Invitations are written, never forwarded. Photography is not permitted. What is said in the room stays in the room, and members who cannot hold that are not invited again.
Membership of the house does not entitle a household to the Circle. It is offered, occasionally, and it can be declined without consequence.
